[CREATION] by M: Captain America inspired simple make-up

Continuing on the Captain America theme in this month's WIMIM, my goal with this was to apply a more "wearable" look to contrast with Courtney's Wonder Woman one. Despite saying that, I really don't think I'd be wearing this out any time soon. Blue eyeshadow is just so hard to pull off and can easily look so tacky.

Originally I lined the top lashline with red eyeshadow (you may see some of it if you look closely) but it did not look right against the soft blue. Even when I tried a dual line look with the black eyeliner, this had to go. I do like the effect of the red eyeshadow on the lower lashline more, even if it makes me look a little crazed.

My itty bitty lashes weren't showing up in the photos so I ended up added these cheap plasticy eBay lashes to give it a boost. These were so stiff and uncomfortable, hence the application was not symmetrical. Probably because the lash bands did not manoeuvre in the way I wanted.

In real life this lip stain comes off brighter than in the pictures and much more red. I only realised on my laptop how "berry-ish" they look here. I guess they kind of suit the welcoming of Autumn in Melbourne?

Base:

Eyes:

  • The Face Shop design my eyebrow
  • NYX jumbo eye pencil - milk
  • 88 colour eyeshadow palette
  • Tony Moly gel liner
  • ebay false eyelashes (definitely not recommended)

  • Lips:
It's so hard taking photos these days because I get home so late and there's no sunlight left. The sun was going down as I was taking these so the lighting did change between photos.

So 3 down and one more to go for this Month's Super WIMIM. Come back Wednesday to see what Courtney was inspired to do.
