[NOTD] by C: Doodling the Glamorous Way

Hey guys!
Where do you get your inspirations for your nails? For me it's other people's work, interesting designs that I come across, or more often an image in my head that I draw right when I'm choosing which polishes to use. This time I wanted to create a tape mani using the Sally Hansen Gem Crush in 03 Big Money as the base and Butter London in Knees Up as the top colour ...but the initially planned tape mani turned into a doodle mani.

Here's a swatch of one coat of Big Money. How glorious is this? :O I was contemplating on just leaving it without doing anything further. The texture of this polish is very granulated and bumpy, with speckles of purple throughout the gold.

After letting the coat fully dry I applied thin strips of nail tape across all five nails but realised that the tapes weren't sticking very well, because of the texture of Big Money. Which is why I just ended up doodling random patterns and drawings. And I think it turned out ok! What do you guys think?

Products used:
Sally Hansen - Gem Crush in 03 Big Money
Butter London - Knees Up

Another thing is, that because of the granulised texture, a thick layer of top coat is recommended if you want a smooth top layer.

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

Love, Court :)

  1. That Butter London red is divine! Used with Big Money (which I adore) as a backdrop is perfect. The designs that you painted on are very cute :)

    1. Thank you! I avoid using Knees Up by itself though, it can be too overpowering!

  3. I absolutely adore the gorgeous designs this lady has painted that too on short nails. nail art may seem easy but it really is difficult to handle and requires lots of effort.
