Yay! My favourite time of the month where I wait in anticipation for my monthly Bellabox to arrive. And October's Bellabox arrived as fresh as ever.
For this month's theme, fashionistas Tash & Elle from theyallhateus collaborated with Bellabox to create a box filled with their favourite beauty items. Also, October is the month that Bellabox celebrates their second birthday. Hip hip hooray!
The very first thing I noticed about this month's box was the fact that there was no box. Hang on, say what?! All I could see were beauty items neatly arranged inside bubble wrap, followed by a layer of cardboard paper, encased in the usual post office box.
I had mixed feelings about this. I was surprised and confused at first, but soon I was glad because honestly I find it quite annoying having to deal with the number of empty Bellaboxes that pile on. I'm reluctant to throw them out because I'm a firm believer in everything becoming useful one day...so far no luck. So I actually prefer it this way where I don't have to squeeze my brain to try and figure out what use I can make out of the boxes.
Anywho, enough with the rambling and let's have a look at the contents.
There are a total of five different items this month, plus a 'bonus' item.
Always happy to try out different shampoos & conditioners, especially when they promise to "boost shine and intensity, restore hair to its original soft and strong glory".
2. L'occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream 150ml RRP $39.00
Trust me, the last thing I need right now is another bloody hand cream. I could name at least seven different hand creams that are no where near finished and are lying around the house, not to mention in my car. But having said that I don't own a L'occitane hand cream and I have heard many positive feedback around them so I shall give it a chance :P
3. Bioderma Sebium Exfoliating Gel 100ml RRP $24.95
Bioderma has become a favourite skin care brand of mine after I tried out the Bioderma Atoderm Cream sent to me in the June Bellabox which worked wonders for my skin. It is currently on my must-have list. I've tried out the exfoliating gel and my first impression is very positive. No disappointment from Bioderma so far!
4. Beyonce Heat EDT 100ml $39.00
I own the full size of this scent given to me as a gift. Although it is not a favourite of mine, I do wear it occasionally. I like the idea of having a small vial that I can carry around in my purse. Why don't many of the perfume companies make more smaller vials?? *hint hint nudge nudge*
5. Jacqueline Burchell Nail Lacquer Duo RRP $17.95
Have I been living under a rock? How come I've never come across this brand of nail polish before... These tiny bottles I received from Jacqueline Burchell are absolutely adorable even though I probably wouldn't purchase the full sizes because of their steep prices. I received the colours in Sparkling Eyes and Sober Mind which I used to do my NOTD shown below. Only one coat of each colour was necessary.
And the bonus item: Maybelline New York Dream Pure BB Cream 30ml RRP $15.95
These contain 2% salicylic acid so may be beneficial for acne-prone skin. I'm not sure if this medium-light tone would suit my skin, but I'm more curious as to how it will perform. We'll see.
Overall I am very pleased with October's Bellabox but would've liked to receive a L'Oreal Paris Shine Caresse which was also part of this month's box. Oh well, better luck next time!
x Court :)
